Gumla was followed by Palamu which registered 45 degree Celsius while Palamau and Chaibasa each recorded 44.4 degree Celsius and Latehar had 44.2 degree C, according to Met office sources.
Hazaribagh and Lohardaga each endured 43.5 degree Celsius while heat wave conditions also prevailed in Dumka (43.9), Jamshedpur (42.2), Giridih (42) and Bokaro (41), the sources said.
The state capital Ranchi had another hot day at 40.1 degree Celsius.
