Garment trader robbed in east Delhi

A garment trader was robbed of Rs seven lakh at gunpoint on a flyover in Shahdara of east Delhi here, police said today.

Forty-year-old Anil Bansal, who have a shop in Gandhi Nagar, was yesterday around 9 PM returnin home in his car when he was robbed, a senior police officer said.

Six motorcycles-borne men waylaid Bansal by calling his name from behind. They took his bag in which Rs 7 lakh cash was kept at gunpoint.

After they left, Bansal immediately made a PCR call.

A case has been registered and CCTV camera footages of the nearby area are being scanned to get clues about the robbers, the officer said.
 

"It appears that some insider was involved who had passed on the information about money being carried by Bansal. We are also enquiring suspects in this regard," he added.
