A Garo militant was killed and four others were arrested by security forces in two separate operations in Meghalaya today, Police said.
Acting on a tip-off, Swift Weapons and Tactic (SWAT) and Special Operation Team (SOT) commandos of the state police raided Sonabil village in West Garo Hills district at around 9.30am and shot down one militant, identified as A Sangma.
A loaded pistol and some documents were seized from the spot, district SP Mukesh Singh told PTI.

He said the raid was conducted following interrogation of an arrested Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) cadre J A Sangma from Tura, the district headquarter.
Meanwhile, in another operation, two hardcore cadres of another outfit, the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), were arrested from South West Khasi Hills district.
Following an information, the two and as many others were nabbed from a bus at Jakrem, district SP Debangshu Sangma said.
A lot of documents including demand notes of the outfit and Bangladeshi SIM cards were seized from their possession, the SP said.
