Several residents from Gandhi Camp locality have been complaining of gastroenteritis symptoms since October 5 and are undergoing treatment.
Nearly 50 persons have been admitted to the civil hospital here, out of which 18 of them have been discharged, hospital sources said here today.
Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Abhinav Trikha, who visited the civil hospital where the residents are admitted, blamed untreated sewage water for the mass spread of the infection.
However, Municipal Council is yet to identify the cause of the outbreak.
