Gateway starts work on Rs 150-crore logistics park at AP port

Logistics firm Gateway Distriparks today said it has commenced construction of a Rs 150-crore facility at the Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh.

The facility, a logistics park, includes supply-chain solutions through a container freight station (CFS), general warehousing and reefer/cold storage services along with transportation units, the company said in a statement.

Gateway Chairman and Managing Director P K Gupta said the company is targeting to complete the first phase of the park, which will include general warehousing, reefer and cold store, by September, while the CFS will be operational by December.

The company is already present at the Nhava Sheva (JNPT) near Mumbai, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Kochi ports and the CFS at Krishnapatnam will be its seventh such facility.
 

The park is spread over 48 acres, the company said, adding that out of the total capex of Rs 150 crore, Rs 80 crore will be spent on land and first phase of construction, while the balance Rs 70 crore will be utilised in the second phase.
