Gauswami, Moudgil fail to qualify for final in ISSF World Cup

Indian Skeet shooter Man Singh gave himself a chance to qualify for his first ever World Cup finals after finishing 4th in the qualifying round on the penultimate day of the ongoing ISSF event, here today.

Singh finished the first day of qualifying in the men's Skeet with a score of 74 out of a possible 75.

Meanwhile, Mairaj Ahmad Khan, who qualified for Rio Olympics, shot 73 to lie 18th while Sheeraz Sheikh was placed 31st with a score of 71.

Among others, Indian shooters Lajja Gauswami and Anjum Moudgil missed out on qualifying for the final of women's 50m rifle 3 position.
 

Gauswami finished 15th with 578 points, while Moudgil was 33rd with 571 points.

In women's Skeet, Rashmee Rathore shot 67 out of 75 in qualifying round to finish in 22nd place, while Maheshwari Chauhan ended 26th with a score of 65 and Arti Singh Rao scored 61 to finish 32nd.

Rio-bound Jitu Rai had won the silver in 10m Air Pistol event in this edition of the World Cup.
