CPI(M) Central Committee member Gautam Deb, who was summoned by the Bidhannagar Police to appear before it in connection with a Saradha chit fund scam case, said he would meet the police after the elections.
"Gautam Deb was summoned by the police yesterday. He has already informed that he will meet them after the elections are over as he is busy with campaigning," said Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, a lawyer for the CPI(M) leader.
Hours after Deb, a former West Bengal minister, accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her family members of amassing properties in prime Kolkata areas yesterday, the police went to the CPI(M) leader's residence in Salt Lake and asked him to appear before officers at the Electronic Complex police station by 2:00 pm today.
