Gaya sizzles at 44.2 deg C in Bihar

Heat wave gripped the Bihar capital today with the maximum temperature soaring to 43.4 degrees Celsius.

A Met office bulletin said the maximum temperature in Patna was recorded six degrees above normal.

Gaya was the hottest place in the state with a maximum of 44.2 deg C, followed by 40.4 deg C in Bhagalpur and 35.3 deg C in Purnea.

The Met office has forecast that south west and south central parts of the state may witness temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius tomorrow without any possibility of rains.
