Gearing up to hold over 4,000 camps in the country and abroad on June 21, spiritual organisation Gayatri Parivar will go on a plantation drive to mark the International Yoga Day.

Gayatri Parivar chief Pranav Pandya today appealed to its volunteers to not just perform yogic postures to mark International yoga day on June 21 but also plant a sapling each and vow to nourish it.

"Health and environmental conservation must go hand in hand because we can't think of having a healthy body without a healthy environment," he said.

Four thousand Gayatri centres across the country have been divided into nine zones and 111 sub zones to hold these camps on a big scale where the participants will plant a sapling each after performing the yog asanas, a release from the Haridwar-headquartered organisation said.

The programme will be simultaneously conducted at Gayatri Parivar's 25 international centres also, it said.
