Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officers' Organisation has demanded establishment of a joint consultancy machinery mechanism and equitable pay at the entry level for Group 'B' officers, among other things.

"The common demands concerning the officers are the demand for minimum five promotions during the tenure of a gazetted officer right from entry to Group 'B' level either by promotion or direct recruitment, merger of 50 per cent DA with Pay for all purposes with effect from January one, 2011 or 100 per cent DA with effect from January 1, 2014 for all serving officers", the Confederation said in a release.

Observing that the issues concerning them, especially at the middle-management level continue to 'mount' in the absence of Grievance Redressal machinery, it said, "the impact of such a gross neglect has been accelerating despite the advent of successive pay commissions."

"Despite our persistent struggle the demand for just equitable scales has remained a far cry", it said, adding that successive pay commissions had ignored the plea for an equitable scale.

"Ironically, being Group B officers we have no representative forum in the Joint Consultative Machinery set up to ventilate their grievances before the government", it said.

With this as the background, the Confederation of Gazetted Officers held a meeting today to deliberate and present the minimum demands before the Seventh Central Pay Commission, the release said.
