The tug of war to host what would be Sachin Tendulkar's 200th and final Test is intensifying with the Gujarat Cricket Association, headed by BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, also expressing keen interest in hosting it as per the BCCI's rotation policy.
"I heard from GCA people that they are not going to let it go as it's their turn to host a Test after Karnataka State CA's as per the rotation system. GCA is full of people who are connected with BJP and they are not willing to let this golden opportunity slip out of their hands," said a top source in the Mumbai Cricket Association.
MCA has already written a letter to the Cricket Board that since it was Tendulkar's 200th Test, the match against the West Indies next month should be held at the Wankhede Stadium here.
