The reserved additional land for setting up transformers in Vaishali and Kaushambi would be allotted to owners of adjoining plots, GDA has said.

GDA board was approached by Chayya Public School in Vaishali with the proposal to be allotted the additional land which has been reserved for the transformer, GDA President Santosh Kumar Yadav said addressing the media after board meeting yesterday.

An inspection was undertaken which revealed that additional land was available at the transformer site. The GDA board then approved the allotment of 353 sqm to the school, Yadav said.

Additional land will be allotted to the school at the rate of 69,000 rupees per sqm, which will generate an income of Rs 3 crore, he added.

In a survey done later in Vaishali and Kaushambi, it was revealed that 21 transformers had extra land reserved for them, he said, adding, the additional land will be allotted to the nearby land owners.

Yadav also said the eighth metro station near Hindon river at Dilshaad Garden-New Bus Adda metro route will be Raj Nagar station.

With the inclusion of this station, the cost of the project will escalate by Rs 50 crore, to make up for which the GDA approved imposition of an additional fee.

Yadav said there is a possibility that in coming years, maps for about 500 acres of land in zone-I would be approved, he said adding, an additional fee of 250 rupees per sqm will be imposed here. This fee will be applicable for the area of the plot, he added.
