Geet Sethi among others to play at Guj billiards tourney

"This tournament is being organised to pay tribute to Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad-III, the erstwhile ruler of princely state of Baroda, on his 150th birth anniversary," Shailesh Shah, president of the Maharaja Pratapsinh Coronation Gymkhana (polo club) told reporters yesterday.

The purpose in organising this event is to motivate and create awareness about the game that is fast catching up with the youngsters of the state.

Shah said many national and international players of repute will be coming to the city for the first time on the occasion.

Champions such as Rupesh Shah, Aditya Mehta, Ashok Shandilya, Devendra Joshi, Alok Kumar, Dhruv Sitwala, Manan Chandra and many more are participating in the tournament.

 

"We have written letters to the principals of schools to send their students to the club to watch renowned players playing into this tournament,"said Vishwanath Sreenivasan, convener of the tournament.
