At a departmental review meeting here, Gehlot also asked them to monitor the quality of roads and buildings.
The chief minister reviewed progress of various projects announced in the budget.
He enquired about the progress of 16 Mega Highways, Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, conditions of roads, renovation and strengthening of highways, missing link projects among others, an official said.
Gehlot said that quality of road construction work should be ensured, and "if a complaint is received regarding road damage, immediate efforts be made for repairing it through contractor or concerned agency."
He also directed the PWD officials to co-ordinate with Railways and complete the targets of rail over-bridges in time.
Public Works Minister Bharat Singh said that the department was ensuring quality in road construction works.
Chief Secretary C K Mathew and several senior officials were also present in the meeting.
