Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today received a threat on social media that whosoever attacked his residence would be rewarded Rs 10 lakh.

The threat came in response to a tweet by the senior Congress leader yesterday in view of the 'Bharat Bandh' call given by some groups opposed to caste-based reservations.

I appeal people not to pay heed to rumours. Violence has no place in democracy, he had said on Twitter.

In reply to his tweet, one user @vishal19pandey wrote:Whosoever will attack Ashok Gehlots residence will be rewarded Rs 10 lakh.

A complaint pertaining to the matter was lodged with the Jaipur commissionerate, police said.
