The Rajasthan budget for the financial year 2013-14, presented by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today, evoked mixed reaction with the ruling Congress welcoming it while the opposition parties dubbed it as "election budget".

"The state budget is growth oriented and covers all sections of the society. The budget proposals provide relief to aam admi and special focus has been given to infrastructure development and welfare of society," PCC President Dr Chandrabhan told reporters here.

Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Gulabchand Kataria said that it was an "election budget".

"It is totally an election budget. Several announcements made in the last budget are still unfulfilled and people have no expectation from this budget also," Kataria said.

Other opposition parties like CPI(M) and SP also slammed the state budget, saying the it is nothing but election announcements by the Congress government.

Meanwhile, the Industry body CII's state council chairman Dileep Baid said that the state budget would bring rich dividends over a period of time and would position the state well on development index.
