Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Sunday directed officials to conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry into the killing of a police head constable in Rajsamand district.
The head constable, Abdul Gani, was beaten to death by four-five unidentified persons on Saturday while he was returning from Hamela ki Ber village, where he had gone for investigation of a case, police had said.
"It is very sad to learn about the death of Head Constable Abdul Ghani. My heart goes out to his family members and I want to assure them that justice will be done Have given direction to the officials for thorough and impartial enquiry," Gehlot said in a tweet.
Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot also took to Twitter to condemn the incident.
He said directions have been issued for a speedy investigation and stern action against the accused.
