Senior Rajasthan Congress leader Ashok Gehlot today accused Vasundhara Raje government of failing to act against rampant corruption in various departments despite having knowledge about it.

"Corruption has broken all limits in Rajasthan. I recently visited six districts, and everyone was saying that no work was being done without paying money in departments. Why such an environment is being made? Why the chief minister (Vasundhara Raje) is not acting...What does this mean?" the former Rajasthan Chief minister questioned.

He alleged that the corruption was rampant in Jaipur Police, Jaipur Development Authority and district administration.

"Rules for regularisation of land were being violated by Jaipur Development Authority and state Home minister Gulabchand Kataria himself had pointed out towards corruption in Jaipur police," he told reporters at his residence here.

Continuing his attack on the state government over alleged phone-tapping of elected representative or officers, he said, every person was living in fear that he or she might be under surveillance.

In connivance with telecom companies, they are tapping phones, he alleged and added that even Kataria might not know that his phone was being tapped.
