Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today termed the state budget as a "disappointing" and "directionless" and alleged that it does not have any plan for employment generation and poverty alleviation.

"Every budget has a direction but the state budget presented by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is directionless and if there is a direction, it is only criticising our former government," Gehlot said in a statement here.

The government took 26 months in finding "shortcomings" of the previous Congress rule and even today is not in a position to count any such faults which were corrected by the present government, he claimed.

Several budget announcements of the former government were again announced by the present dispensation, the senior Congress leader alleged, adding "there is no plan in the budget for employment generation and poverty alleviation.
