Award winning researcher, Professor Gerard George, the international dean of BML Munjal University in India, will lead the Singapore Management University's (SMU) business school from January 1 next year.

George, who hails from Chennai, has been appointed for a five-year term as dean of SMU's Lee Kong Chiang School of Business (LKCSB), the SMU spokesperson said today.

He will be SMU's youngest dean at the age of 43.

George is currently deputy dean of Imperial College Business School in London, Director of Rajiv Gandhi Centre and the editor of the Academy Of Management Journal.

"I would be looking for new ways to help the business school leverage on research and talent to deliver a practical boost to the Singapore business community," George said.
