German Ambassador Walter J Lindner called on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday and discussed various issues, according to a statement.
According to the statement issued by the government, the ambassador showed a keen interest in various public welfare initiatives of the Delhi government and the administrative structure of the national capital.
After the meeting, Lindner tweeted, "Courtesy Call on Chief Minister of Delhi and founder of AAP, Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Good talks on infrastructure, air quality and German House."
Kejriwal informed the ambassador how the Delhi government brought about the "transformation" in education and health sectors, and provided relief to the residents in electricity and water sectors, the statement stated.
"The CM also told the ambassador that Delhi has been able to reduce the levels of air pollution by 25 per cent during last five years, but crop residue burning (stubble burning) during the months of October-November from the neighbouring states adversely impacts the air quality," it stated.
The chief minister informed the ambassador about the upcoming initiatives of the Delhi government, including community Diwali celebrations during the weekend to create awareness against burning of firecrackers and the odd-even scheme from November 4 to 15.
