Kopp will discuss issues of sanitation and waste management with the government as well as German partners, a statement said.

Kopp met Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh and discussed projects related to waste and sanitation, including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

She also visited German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) and German government-owned banking group KfW. The GIZ is working as an interface with MNREGA on climate change.

Kopp will hold a meeting with the National Capital Region Planning Board.

Earlier this year, Germany and India had pledged funds for environment and urban infrastructure development, whereby KfW has signed a loan agreement worth 100 million euros and a financing agreement for project development and capacity building grant of one million euro with the NCRPB.

Kopp would also meet Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath, the statement said.

She will tomorrow visit the ongoing Indo-German Urban Mela at Indraprastha Millennium Park and take part in a panel discussion on "Road for planned urbanisation" in the conference pavilion.

During the week, Kopp will also visit Bangalore and a village to see a new water project on issues of groundwater cleaning and rural water supply, the statement said.
