The eighth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 scheduled to be held in November here would focus on four major areas, a senior official of the US Government said today.

The areas of focus will be healthcare and life sciences, digital economy and financial technology (fintech), energy and infrastructure and media and entertainment, said Jennifer Arangio, senior director for international organisations and alliances at the National Security Council, the White House.

She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President's daughter Ivanka Trump would address inaugural session during the event from November 28 to 30 2017.

"There are four major focus areas -- energy and infrastructure, media and entertainment, healthcare and life sciences and digital economy and fintech.

"But we will have few other areas that would be covered throughout the summit," Arangio said refusing to name some of the prominent speakers.

The GES with a theme 'Women First, Prosperity for All', will bring together approximately 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem supporters from around the world for two-and-a-half days of training and mentoring sessions, networking, and investment matchmaking, she further said.

According to her, the US Government is working closely with Indian counterparts particularly with NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) and the Telangana Government.

"We (the US Government) are in the process of selecting 400 individuals who will represent the United States at GES 2017, and so far the group includes entrepreneurs from places like Kalamazoo, Michigan; Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; Edmond, Oklahoma and of course Silicon Valley," she added.

C Muralikrishna Kumar senior advisor of NITI Aayog said they are are planning to launch an app for the registered delegates which will allow each of the delegates to network with their pears.

USA Consul General Katherine Hadda said there are about 130 American companies here in Hyderabad, who in addition to creating jobs both here and in the United States are always actively working to stimulate entrepreneurship and women's empowerment.
