Prime Minister Narendra Modi announces packages wherever he goes but all this is just "packaging" and there is no package, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today quipped as he asked Jammu and Kashmir government to get the financial aid announced by the Centre during the last year's flooding in the state.

"Last year, flood hit the state and people were effected. There was a talk of huge package (from the Centre) for the state. The Prime Minister talks about packages in Jammu and Kashmir, in Bihar and where ever he goes. But all this is just packaging and there is no package.

"I want to tell the Chief Minister (Mufti Sayeed) that you have a government here, get the package from the Centre," Gandhi said addressing party workers convention here.

Gandhi said it is the responsibility of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the devastating floods in September last year.

"It is your job to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the floods. You have a government in the state and BJP is in power at the Centre. Bring the package so that people benefit from it," Gandhi said.

Criticising the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for entering into a coalition with BJP to form its government in the state, he said,"Jammu and Kashmir, also perhaps the Chief Minister, knows that there would be no benefit (for the people) from this government. He knows but he cannot say it."

"The government which was formed here has made many promises (but failed to keep them)," he said.

At the time of election, Gandhi said PDP asked people to vote for it so that it could stop BJP from coming to power.

"But after polls, the party did totally opposite to it (by tying a knot with BJP to form the government)," he said and predicted a Congress government in the state after the next election.

"Congress has both experience and youth power. We have to work to join both together, then we will move forward. I have full confidence that the next government in Jammu and Kashmir will be of Congress," he said.

"I understood this during the last two days. Now I want to tell you what type of government we will form," he said adding "first of all voice of poor people should be heard in our government, the voice of Congress workers -- who faced lathis and bullets-- will be heard in the government.

"The voice of women will be heard in that government and much power will be given to poor people and farmers.
