The throbbing spirit of the city where he grew up under the tutelage of father Pandit Shankar Ghosh shaped his mindscape aesthetically, celebrated percussionist Bickram Ghosh said today on receiving the Lions Club International Grand Felicitation Honour.

"Getting any recognition from my own people and place is special. The city is everything to me, it shaped up my views, the long adda sessions with family friends. Kolkata still retains the same spirit," the 'Tagore Lounge' artiste said after being conferred the honour.

"Also it holds special significance being conferred by an organization like Lions Clubs International. I know their extent of work and involvement in projects and would always love to be part of their initiatives," he said.

"Even if given a chance I would never swap the place, Kolkata, with any other city," the percussionist-film music director-actor said.

A spokesman of Lions Clubs International (District 322B2) said, "we are privileged to confer the honour to an internationally known percussionist Shri Bickram Ghosh and TV actor Shrimati Jaya Seal who have left their marks in their respective fields and made Bengal proud.
