Goa Football Association has made a strong representation to claim a venue to host the U-17 World Cup in 2017.

GFA has sent all the details with regards to legal, security and financial aspect to host the U-17 world cup before January 31 deadline and is hopeful of getting the approval from the AIFF, GFA president Srinivas Dempo told reporters here today.

Goa is one of the best states to have world class infrastructure, including one main ground at Fatorda, two synthetic grounds at Duler and Vasco, beside five training grounds.

"We stand the best chance as we have one of the venue alongside Mumbai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Delhi, Kerala, Chennai and Kolkata when the technical committee of FIFA comes here for inspection to select the six venues," Dempo added.
