Days after he and two MLAs of his party were dropped from the Goa government to accommodate defected legislators of the Congress, GFP president Vijai Sardesai Monday questionned the "timing" of the political developments in the coastal state.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant dropped Sardesai, Vinod Palyekar and Jayesh Salgaonkar (all from the Goa Forward Party), and Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte, from the Cabinet on Saturday and inducted four fresh faces.
The Congress in Goa suffered a huge setback when 10 of its 15 MLAs, including Leader of Opposition, crossed over to the ruling BJP last week.
"The timing of this tumultuous political development was perhaps aimed at sabotaging the ongoing session of the Legislative Assembly," Sardesai told reporters in Margao.
"No one can figure out who is in Opposition and who is in the ruling coalition. You have to sit and figure out," said the former deputy chief minister.
