The Goa Forward Party (GFP) today claimed that none of the leaders from the state Congress unit participated in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Delhi on July 22.

He said state unit president Girish Chodankar seems to have given a "power of attorney" to Goa state desk incharge A Chellakumar.

GFP spokesman Prashant Naik told a press conference that none of the leaders from Goa participated in the CWC meeting.

"It was expected that state Leader of Opposition and Chodankar would attend the meeting but they gave a power of attorney to Chellakumar," Naik said.

"He was given right to represent Goa in Delhi. Never in the past Congress has never seen such a bad situation," he added.

The GFP response came days after Chodankar told reporters that it was a "blessing in disguise that Congress did not form the government in alliance with the Vijai Sardesai-led party".
