A portrait of eminent Ghadar Movement leader Kartar Singh Sarabha will be unveiled in the Indian consulate in San Francisco.
The unveiling of the portrait, slated later this week, will be in commemoration of 100 years of the Ghadar Party, which was founded by a group of immigrant Indians in the US and Canada to liberate India from British rule.
The party rose to prominence in the second decade of the 20th century, and grew in strength owing to Indian discontent over World War I and the lack of political reforms.
