Ghana delegation meets Punjab govt officials

A high-level delegation from the Republic of Ghana today met top officials of the Punjab government to explore business opportunities.

Ghana's Deputy Minister for Energy and Petroleum Benjamin Dagadu held meetings with government departments to explore business opportunities with the state in various fields, including power, agro food processing, co-operative farming, an official release said.

He said Ghana is famous for its natural resources like gold, diamond, cocoa, palm oils, cashew nuts, fish, rubber, cotton, pineapple and palm nuts.

He said industry from Punjab could set up industrial units in these fields.

"Ghana is a large importer of all types of finished products and consumer goods, but import from India to Ghana was almost negligible as compared to other countries," he said.
 

The Deputy Minister said the main goal of Ghana delegation visiting India Punjab, is to explore the possibility of importing of products, which are of better quality and could substitute to Chinese products.

He proposed that the Punjab government should set up an engineering college in Ghana.
