Ghana national held in Chennai on drug trafficking charge

Sleuths of Narcotics Control Bureau today clamied to have busted a multi-city drug trafficking network with the arrest of a Ghana national and seized 160 grams of cocaine from him here.

Based on specific inputs, NCB officials searched the hotel room in which Kaumi Ebeniser was staying here and seized 160 grams of cocaine, NCB, Zonal Director, Prem Anand Sinha said in a statement.

The seizure revealed foreign national traffickers were in drug trafficking trade and active in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai, he said.

Initial investigations revealed that Ebeniser used to sell cocaine in various parts of Chennai in small quantities, he said.
 

The seized narcotic was worth around Rs 10 lakh in grey market, he said, adding that the Ghana national has been arrested.

"Enquiries are being conducted with the arrested person to find about the druge trafficking network," he added.
