Nine police officials have been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with the Ghasipura incident, wherein three criminals were found dead, police said today.

A total of nine officials, including Amresh Kumar Baghel, SHO Mansurpur police station, SI Satvir Atrey, Subey Singh, Prahlad Singh, Harender Singh, Ajayvir, constables Sourabh, Gaurav and Vikrant, were put under suspension last night, they said.

SSP Deepak Kumar said the action follows protest by people over mysterious death of three suspected criminals at Ghasipura on September 21.

Deepak Rathi, Gaurav and Sachin were found dead under suspicious circumstances in a house under Mansurpur Police Station with bullet injuries.

The deceased were wanted by the police in connection with over a dozen cases of loot and murder, the SSP said, adding four pistols were also seized from the house.
