BJP MP Murli Manohar Joshi today said the Ghatampur thermal power project will be functional by 2021.
The power plant will start functioning by 2021. It was delayed as the previous UPA government had laid its foundation without completing the necessary formalities, the Kanpur MP alleged in a statement.
"The NDA government, after coming to power, expedited the work of the project by doing the needful. The construction work will start by September," Joshi said.
The Centre had recently approved the 1,980-MW project to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 17,237.8 crore.
