Ghaziabad police rescue newly-born girl child abandoned by

A newly-born girl child was today found abandoned in a colony in the Indirapuram area here, police said.

According to SHO Gorakhnath Yadav, the baby was rescued by police after some residents of Nyay Khand-I colony found her abandoned at a desolate spot and informed them.

Police shifted her to a nearby hospital where she is under the care of hospital staff, added Yadav.

A case has been registered against unnamed persons under Section 317 of the IPC for intentionally abandoning a minor child and thereby causing a threat to its life, he said.

Police are trying to establish the identity of the parents, the officer said.
