Ghazipur station gets wi-fi

Starting today passengers at the Ghazipur railway station can access wi-fi internet facility.

The facility being provided by RailTel, a PSU under Railways shall be available to the users free of cost initially for a period of 30 minutes by registering on the wi-fi network through their mobile.

For usage beyond 30 minutes, the user may purchase scratch cards for further usage.

The wi-fi was commissioned by Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha at the station.

Ghazipur City Railway Station is the largest and most important railway station in Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh.

RailTel would provide similar wi-fi facility at about 400 stations. It has already successfully implemented the facility at a number of major staions including New Delhi, Bangalore City and Madgaon.
 

RailTel recently also signed an agreement with the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) for providing wi-fi facilities, initially at five metro stations.

The five stations are -- Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Vishwavidyalaya, Central Secretariat and Hauz Khas.
