GHMC bill-collector found to be worth Rs three crore

Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau today unearthed assets worth about Rs 3 crore allegedly belonging to a junior officer of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

On credible information, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against M Narsimha Reddy, bill collector in GHMC's taxation section, and simultaneous searches were conducted at his and his relatives' and associates' houses in Hyderabad and other places today, an ACB release said.

The searches discovered four multi-story houses, seven open plots, 33.01 acres of agricultural land, two kg of gold ornaments, 3.7 kg of silver articles, electronic gadgets, a car, two tractors, two two-wheelers, Rs 16 lakh in eight bank accounts, cash of of Rs 61,000 and Rs 10 lakh-worth insurance policies, all worth about Rs 3 crore in total, ACB said.
 

Further, the market value of these assets was around Rs 6 crore, ACB said, adding that it was in the process of arresting Reddy.
