"In such previous investors' meets, being held since 2007, the Madhya Pradesh government had signed over 279 MoUs for projects worth several crores of rupees. However, as a matter of fact, 111 MoUs have been cancelled so far. Hence, this meet is a sheer wastage of money," MP Congress Committee Spokesman Narendra Saluja told reporters during a press conference here.

Indore unit Congress president Pramod Tandon was also present on the occasion.

According to the Congress leaders, the BJP was "collecting donations" from the industrial houses by allotting land to them to set up their plants in the state.

"On the eve of assembly elections in the state due next November, the BJP government is collecting huge donations from investors by selling land to them to set up their plants," Saluja and Tandon claimed in a joint statement.

"Small, medium and big business houses were already sick and burdened with high power and water tariffs, workers' high wages and infrastructure, but the state government is doing nothing to minimise their woes," they alleged.
