Chairman of hardline Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani today condemned the killing of PDP Pulwama district chief Abdul Gani Dar, saying killing people merely for political affiliations is against the teachings of Islam.
"There is no justification for these killings. It is unfair and against humanity to kill person for his specific ideology or affiliations," Geelani said in a statement here.
Dar, an advocate by profession, was killed yesterday by unidentified militants in Pulwama town of south Kashmir.

He was the third political activist killed in south Kashmir in a week.
On April 16, militants shot dead a former public prosecutor, affiliated with opposition National Conference, in Shopian district and PDP worker Bashir Ahmad Dar at Rajpora village of Pulwama, a day earlier.
Denouncing such type of killings, the Hurriyat leader said "Secret killings will lead us to chaos. Teachings of Islam assign extra ordinary worth to human life and saving a human being is like saving the whole humanity," he said.
