Press Trust of India Mumbai
Ginger prices, both bleached and unbleached, firmed up in an otherwise sluggish spices market here today on sustained stockists demand amid good export offtake.

Black pepper and copra rajapur Mumbai fell further on selling following fresh arrivals from producing regions.

While, copra office Alapuza, copra office Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Ginger bleached and unbleached climbed by Rs 10 per kg each to Rs 200 and Rs 220 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 190 and 210.

However, copra rajapur Mumbai dropped by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 16,000 as against Rs 16,500 previously.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 635/715 (660/730), ginger bleached (per kg) 200 (190), ginger unbleached (per kg) 220 (210), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,600 (9,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,500 (9,500), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 12,000 (12,000).
