A 21-year-old girl today alleged that she was raped by a youth for over a year on the pretext of marriage in a sub-urban town here, police said.

The girl lodged an FIR with the Sanganer-sadar police station after the accused youth, Raju's marriage was fixed elsewhere by his maternal uncle yesterday, they said.

Earlier, parents of both the girl and the youth had agreed on their marriage but later boy's parents and uncle retracted and fixed Raju's marriage with another girl, police said.

The couple were apparently in a live-in relationship for about a year, the police said, adding, the girl's statement was recorded.

A case under section 376 of IPC for rape was registered against Raju and police has launched a manhunt to nab the absconding accused.
