A 14-year-old girl was charred to death when an LPG cylinder exploded following leakage as she tried to light the stove near Natham in this district, police said.

Her 18-year-old brother was injured when he tried to rescue her and has been admitted to hospital.

Police said the girl tried to light the stove when the gas was already leaking from the LPG cylinder, triggering a fire and the cylinder exloded.
