A 22-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide apparently over a troubled relationship, police said here today.
The body of Rupali Sharma, a final year student at DAV College, was last night found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room near Balantan park here, they said.
A suicide note was recovered from the site saying that she was upset with her lover Raghav Verma, they said.
The body of the girl, who was a native of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, was later sent for postmortem, they said.
Police have initiated a probe into the matter and a case will be lodged after recording the statements of her family members, they said, adding efforts are underway to find Raghav.
