A girl student of a
polytechnic college was killed while another person was injured in a road accident in Chandil, about 35 km from here, in adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district today, police said.
The victim identified as Sarita Haiburu along with a man were travelling on a motorcycle when a trailer coming from behind rammed them, said Officer-in-charge of Chandil Police station R K Singh said.
As soon as the victims drove out of a petrol pump after filling the two-wheeler and approached the main road, the trailer dashed them from behind, killing Sarita, who was a student of the polytechnic college in Gamariah, on the spot.
Seriously injured man was immediately rushed to Tata Main Hospital here, where he was admitted, Singh said.
The trailer has been confiscated, Singh added.
