Girl dies of dengue, Woman of Swine flu in Coimbatore district

A 19-year-old girl died of dengue, while a 52-year-old woman succumbed to swine flu in the district, police said today.

The teenaged girl, Keerthana from Karumathampatti in the district was admitted to a private hospital two days ago with complaints of fever and tested positive for dengue, police said.

She died this morning, without responding to treatment, they said.

Meanwhile, Ranganayaki, who was undergoing treatment for swine flu in the Government Hospital here died last evening, they added.

As many as 82 persons are taking treatment for fever and seven cases of dengue reported in the government hospital.

The health department here is taking preventive measures to check the spread of the diseases, department sources said.
