A 19-year-old computer engineering student was today found hanging from the ceiling fan of her residence here, police said.
No suicide note was recovered from the deceased Shabnam's room and police were investigating the case, said Mohammed Mobin, ASI at Anantpura police station.
According to her family members, the first year student had retired to her room for studies last night. When the victim did not open the door in the morning, the family informed the police and broke open the room's door where they found her hanging.
She was declared brought dead at the hospital, the ASI said, adding that the body was handed over to the family after a postmortem.
According to her parents, there was no obvious reason why she would take the extreme step.
A case has been registered under section 174 of the CrPC and investigation is on.
