A teenage girl was allegedly gangraped in front of her lover today by a group of five men at Manickchak in Malda district.
The police said the accused raped her after tying her lover to a tree near a field this evening.
The girl and the boy were going on a bicycle from Manickchak towards Gopalpur when the five men coming on motorbikes stopped them.
They picked up the duo on their motorbikes and raped her, the police said.
The girl lodged an FIR with the police officers in Manickchak police station and two of the accused were arrested, the police said, adding that a manhunt has been launched to arrest the three others who are absconding.
