A six-year-old girl fell into an open drain here and has been untraceable so far.

Adithi, a first standard student, who was returning from tuition along with three other girls at 6 pm yesterday, accidentally slipped and fell into the drain at HB Colony here while getting into a car, MVP zone Police Inspector Vidyasagar said today, adding that she has been "missing" since then.

"It was raining at the time the incident occurred. It seems Adithi did not notice the drain as water had flooded the area. The search operation is on. Police, municipal workers and fire department staff have searched the entire area thrice since yesterday but without any success," he said.

"She is still missing...The search operation is going on and will continue till we trace her," the inspector said, adding, Adithi has been staying with her grandfather here while her parents, both software engineers, live in Bangalore.
