Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pankaj Rawat denied that the car was part of Kumar's carcade and said the girl was about to cross the road when the speeding vehicle knocked her down injuring her grievously.
He said investigation into the incident was on.
Meanwhile, the girl was rushed to the hospital, from where she was reffered to another one in Varanasi, he said.
