A girl allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping off the terrace of her residence in southern part of the city's Behala area, police said today.
The girl, who worked as a model and also acted in a few television soaps, allegedly jumped off the terrace in Behala's Satyen Roy Road following a quarrel with her parents yesterday afternoon, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
The condition of the girl, in her early 20s, was stated to be critical, he said.
"The girl was rescued lying in a pool of blood on the road beside her residence. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she is under observation," the officer said.
