After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defence for the past five days, a local court today fixed May 21 to pronounce its order in the alleged abduction and rape of a 18-year-old girl from here last year.

The minor girl was kidnapped and raped in June and then in September last year. She was forcibly picked up from her residence on gun point in full public view. She was later traced with her alleged abductor in Goa.

Nishan Singh Brar, the prime accused and 19 others are facing the charge of kidnapping and raping the girl after luring her for marriage.

Except eight alleged accused, who were enlarged on bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, rest others are lodged in local jail.

District and Sessions Judge Archna Puri heard the case on a day to day basis as desired by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

After her recovery, the girl was first sent to Nari Niketan but later on she agreed for her medical examination and also agreed to accompany her parents.

Nishan Singh is also convicted in an arms case besides 17 other criminal cases, including murders.
